What are your feelings trying to tell you?

Hello — my name is Dr. John Gleim. I’m a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst based in Philadelphia, PA.

In my clinical work I focus on helping clients develop a more compassionate and complete understanding of themselves.

If you're experiencing anxiety or depression—particularly symptoms like intrusive thoughts, signs of OCD, or the lingering effects of past trauma or abuse—it is possible to find relief through counseling. I'd like to help you start to make sense of things.

There are no shortcuts to a deeper understanding of oneself. The insights, self-understanding, and perspective I’ll help you uncover through therapy, though, can serve as the lasting foundation for a more fully-integrated, empowered, authentic life.

Drawing on both counseling psychology and my ten years’ experience as a university teacher of philosophy and theology, I also frequently work with clients who find themselves facing existential, religious, or other deep human concerns.
